The jr high boys' soccer team had a great game against GCT last night. Final score 2-4. Always #bearcatproud

Brookland Lady Bearcats Jr High Softball finished the season as Runner Up in 2 separate divisions with 2 seperate teams. The Red team finished the year 16-1 scoring 166 runs and allowing 18. The Black team finished the year 10-3-2 scoring 117 runs and allowing 38. This was an incredible season even though both teams came up short in their championship games. Being able to say Brookland had two teams battle all season, in two separate divisions, and compete in the championship games is an amazing accomplishment. The future is bright for Brookland Softball.

Tonight is a big night for JH Softball. Both teams are playing tonight. Last night, Brookland Black got two big wins in games against Westside and Rivercrest to put them into the championship game in their division Thursday 4/18 at 7:45 against Walnut Ridge. Here are some big numbers from last night:
Eden Cornish 4-5 with 3 runs scored
Bailey Williams 3-4 with a sac bunt with 3 runs scored
Molly Hampton 4-4 with 4 runs scored
(Pitcher) Kyleigh Combs 3-4 with a sac fly, 2 runs scored, and 13 strikeouts on the night
(Catcher) Kaylee Diaz 3-4 with 2 runs scored and with a runner thrown out at 2nd
Brookland Red also plays tonight at 6:30 against Jonesboro. If they win that one, they will also move forward to the championship game at 7:45 in their division to play Westside. They are defending their undefeated record of 15-0. GO CATS.

Friday we competed at JHS for SO Track and Field. We took about 20 volunteers with us, along with 14 athletes from JH/HS. All of our students represented Brookland extremely well! If you see any of these students, please tell them what a great job they did! Each athlete received two medals.
I cannot say enough good about the students we took as volunteers. They are interactive with our athletes, they are diligent about athlete safety, and they take pictures like a proud big brother or sister. It is truly heart-warming to know we have such an amazing group of students who want to include everyone, no matter what! Track and field is a bit chaotic and these students handled everything so gracefully and with a smile on their faces!
There is no way I could make these trips happen without the help from others! Thank you all for being so supportive and thank you to Mrs. Paslay for working so hard to put on the pep rally the day before this event. I truly believe that is what gets these kids pumped up for competition day. - Mrs. Harris
