We want to assure you that all students are safe. The police are currently managing a situation near the school, and we as Brookland Public Schools are taking all necessary precautions. All employees, students and coaches have been notified, and the building is securely locked.

We had a great turnout last year and hope to make it even better this year. We would especially like to have any businesses that might create job opportunities for our students!! Come join us and get the school year started off great by cheering on our Bearcats!!
LITTLE CATS FOOTBALL CAMP will be held July 16th-18th from 6-7pm. Boys in Grades 3-6 are invited to attend. Cost to attend is $40/camper which includes a mini football and a T-shirt . The Little Cats camp is run by our Bearcat Football staff as well as out high school athletes. We are looking forward to a great time! This is a no-contact football camp. #Bearcatproud, #TheBearcatWay

Girl Scouts Information
Participation in Girl Scouts is directly correlated with student success within the classroom and there are many benefits to being a Girl Scout. There are two events coming up for Brookland Public Schools:

Our Elementary teachers have spent the past 2 days learning how to make their professional learning communities (PLC) stronger and finding more ways to use their Promethean boards with their students. We have the BESt teachers and staff! #bearcatproud

Odyssey of the Mind Camp this week was a hit! We tested our creativity each day with Hands on Spontaneous problems and worked all week to create a solution for a “short” term problem called “The Night Life!" We loved watching their creativity shine this week!

The Brookland High School Baseball Team is hosting a baseball camp for boys and girls entering grades K-6 in the fall.
Skills covered will be throwing, catching, batting, fielding and baserunning. Wear a T-shirt and pants or shorts, baseball or tennis shoes. Bring water and a glove, and bring a bat and helmet if you have them.
Instruction will be provided by the Brookland Bearcat High School Baseball Team and Coaching Staff. Each athlete will receive a dry-fit type Bearcat Baseball T-shirt.
Signup deadline to receive a shirt is July 5th. We will still take enrollments after that but will not provide a shirt.
Grades K to 3 - 8am to noon, Monday July 15
Grades 4 to 6 - 8am to noon, Tuesday July 16
Cost: $55
Drop off and pickup will be at the concession stand. Parents may stay and watch.

Mrs. Son’s class would like to thank their two final mystery readers for the month of May. Andrew’s mom read a book about space and let the students sample some freeze dried candy. Macey’s mom read a cute book about how to catch a “mama-saurus”. Thank you ladies! We enjoyed it!
