Congratulations are in order! Brookland Elementary School and Brookland Primary School have been recognized by the Office for Education Policy (OEP) at the University of Arkansas as schools where students demonstrated high growth on the ATLAS!
The OEP creates an annual report entitled the Outstanding Educational Performance Awards where the organization recognizes schools with high student academic growth.
In OEP's Elementary School Level report,
Brookland Elementary School received the following awards:
High Overall Growth (Northeast region)
High Math Growth (Northeast region)
High ELA Growth (Northeast region)
Brookland Primary School received the following awards:
High Overall Growth (Northeast region)
High Math Growth (Northeast region)
High ELA Growth (Northeast region)
These growth scores reflect how much students at the school improved from 2024 compared to how much other students with similar prior achievement improved. The organization recognizes schools based on Overall growth, as well as for growth in Math and English Language Arts separately.

Mrs. Lawrence’s class had such an eventful day on Friday! Zhavia’s mom read us a great story and brought us cupcakes. We ended our day dissecting owl pellets and identifying the bones! 🦉🧁










Next month, we will host a Military Ball at BES. This will be a family event. We will have a "ball"/dance in the gym, and refreshments will be served in the cafeteria. If you are a current or past member of the military, we would love for you to dress in your uniform for this event.

Mrs. Runsick’s firsties had the best time last week trying all things apple! They taste-tested different colored apples, apple pie, apple butter, apple jelly, and caramel apple suckers! They chose their favorite colored apple and voted on apple butter vs. apple jelly. Such a fun week! 🍎
