Mrs. Hendrix sent this "Bearcat Brag" this evening and it was too good not to share:
I just wanted to take a moment to brag on Ms. Wells tonight. She was about ten minutes into the choir’s Christmas concert when a substation blew and took out the power to half of Brookland.
She did not miss a beat as she quickly shifted to a portable speaker and several a cappella songs. Her students still made beautiful music all while using their phones’ flashlights to illuminate their faces. I was so proud of all of them.
It’s truly a testament to the resiliency and talent of both the choir students and their director. To top it all off, the power came back on near the end of the concert, lighting only the white lights of the Christmas trees as a student sang “White Christmas” and let me tell you, it took my breath away.
So, thank you to everyone involved in the choir concert tonight for getting us in the Christmas spirit and for giving me just one more reason that I am proud to be a Bearcat.
Thanks,
Lauren
