Today, we had the honor of hosting Arkansas Secretary of Education Jacob Oliva, Deputy Commissioner Stacey Smith, ADHE Commissioner Ken Warden, and representatives from Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders' office across our campuses. While touring our schools and meeting with our staff, Secretary Oliva dropped some INCREDIBLE news:
🌟 Brookland School District finished in the TOP 5 in the state of Arkansas for % increase in student achievement for the 2025–26 school year! 🌟
On top of that, Brookland High School ALSO ranked in the TOP 5 statewide for building-level achievement growth! 🐾
There is no denying it: Brookland is THE place to be, and the momentum here is absolutely unstoppable! 🚀🔥

The 2025-26 MaxPreps Cup standings are in, and the Brookland Bearcats have officially captured the #2 spot in the entire state of Arkansas!
With 912 points, this marks the best overall athletic finish in school history—and it belongs entirely to the incredible work ethic, relentless drive, and passion of our student-athletes and coaching staff.
Our coaches work tirelessly behind the scenes to build champions on and off the field, while our student-athletes sacrifice early mornings, late nights, and endless hours to compete at the highest level.
None of this would be possible without Bearcat Nation. To our parents, booster club, administration, and community members who fill the stands, travel across the state, and support our programs every step of the way—this milestone belongs to you, too. 10 Brookland Bearcat Trap team members traveled to Sparta, Illinois for a 5 day tournament to compete against championship teams from the entire USA, and several other countries.

These 10 competed in different events in 2 different age classes (15-17 and 12-14).
Overall they finished the squad/team events in 2nd place nationally in both of their age classes. Max Counts also finished as runner-up individually in his age class.
Although this sport is not as well known as some others at the school, it takes an incredible amount of time and dedication to get to this level.
The temperatures they competed in over these last days were ridiculous. Sunday was 103 actual and 122 heat index. However, they hydrated, found shade when possible, and pushed through to show what Bearcats are capable of!
