Brookland Public Schools will be dismissing at 1:30 today, (Wednesday), as well as tomorrow, Thursday, August 24. This reason for this early dismissal is the extreme heat indexes over the next 2 days. Your student's safety and health are important to us. CAT Club will be in session. Thank you for your patience and help with this.
Tonight's Jr High Football game has been moved from 7pm to 8pm due to the current heat advisory.
We know accidents may happen! We encourage all students to have insurance.
For example, a replacement screen is $70.00 each time a screen is broken. If you purchase the insurance, it is only $26.00 for the whole year no matter how many times the Chromebook breaks!
https://smarttechinsurance.com/organization/brookland-public-schools/
See the BPS District Handbook for more details.
Please remember that this insurance covers your student's assigned Chromebook and does not include any loaner devices your student may check out. Smart Tech is the only outside repair source we allow for our Chromebooks, as per the BPS District Handbook. Any devices repaired by other companies outside of BPS IT or Smart Tech Insurance will be subjected to replacement fees.
Hopefully, school traffic should continue to improve this week. We appreciate everyone for their continued patience. If needed, please review the following traffic routes and parking reminders:

The first campaign began this morning and will run through September 1st. It offers a $20 savings and free icons with purchase of personalization.

A reminder from the nurses:
The nurses have been reviewing vaccination records and noticed that a lot of students are missing t dap and mcv4, which are given at 11 year wellness/ check ups. If you already know that your child will need these please begin the process of getting your child vaccinated or if you wish to apply for exemption. And please let the JH nurses know as soon as possible if you are starting either process or if you are unsure if your child is up to date, the nurses will be able to look it up. The JH/HS nurses' office can be reached at 870-336-6585.
We would like to thank everyone for their contributions in helping make the first day of school amazing!
Traffic was somewhat congested as expected but the line was finished in record time in regards to the first day of school!
For safety reasons, please do not allow your child to unload in the left lane. Thank you.
