Recently, a tragedy occurred at a business in Jonesboro. Our prayers go out to the employees and patrons of that business. The Brookland School District was recently made aware that the man who died by suicide in the tragedy was one of our former student teacher interns and substitute teacher, Mr. Jonathan Drum. Mr. Drum was going to be an amazing teacher, and had a very bright future. We are very saddened to know that he was struggling, and by this loss. We are also thankful for the time that we got to share with him, and are praying for his family and friends. We want to make sure that our students and staff know that our counselors and mental health staff are always available, even during the summer. If you need assistance, please reach out to your school counselor, principal, or any staff member. We will help get you in contact with the right person to help, and assist with any referrals to other organizations that may be needed. If you need immediate assistance, or you are unable to reach someone at the school, you can call any of the hotline numbers below for help.
