The school went into a temporary lockdown with a malfunction of our RAVE System signaling an active shooter. The police responded within seconds and discovered it was a malfunction. All students and staff are safe and there was NO active shooter. We are in contact with the company that provides our system to explain and correct.

2024-2025 Baseball Team Tryout Information!
The 2024 Academic Awards Ceremony for Sophomores and Juniors is on May 17th at 12:30pm in the Brookland High School Auditorium. Students who are receiving an academic award were given an invitation to attend the ceremony during English classes earlier this week. Only those students who received an invitation, along with their family members, will attend the ceremony. If a student received an invitation, but will not be attending school on May 17th, they will need to arrive at the auditorium by 12pm to be seated. We are looking forward to celebrating the academic accomplishments of these students!

Through USDA's summer meal programs, approved sites in communities across the country can serve meals to kids up to age 18 at no cost. Families can use this tool to find directions to nearby meal sites, as well as their hours of operation and contact information.
Families seeking food assistance for their children can also contact The USDA National Hunger Hotline, operated by Hunger Free America. The hotline can be reached Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. ET. at 1-866-3-HUNGRY (1-866-348-6479) (for English) or 1-877-8-HAMBRE (1-877-842-6273) (for Spanish).

As we are approaching the final weeks of the school year, we want to inform you that we will not be sending home printed lunch debt notices for the remaining weeks. We will continue to send texts as well as emails as long as we have the updated information in the offices. Bearcat trap team members competed in the East regional tournaments for JR and SR divisions in Jacksonville on Friday and Saturday.
JR division (7-8gr) has 2 squads advancing to the state tournament out of over 100 other squads that competed, placing 3rd and 10th.
SR division (9-12gr) also has 2 squads advancing to the state tournaments. They placed 6th and 7th, also out of over 100 other squads.
And…. Hayden Whitlock was 1 of 5 students Saturday to shoot a perfect 50/50 targets, securing him a spot in the “Champion or Champions” individual shoot off!
All in all we have 20 of 37 team members advancing to the state tournament!
