Local Weatherman, Ryan Vaughn, talks to 6th Grade.
Ryan Vaughn visited BMS 6th graders today. He used experiments to help students understand weather is more than just the water cycle, it's air pressure, too. He also reinforced the importance of proper tornado safety at home and school.
January/February Students of the Month
Very proud of our Bearcats! We were once again the top fundraising school in NEA for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. We raised $14.882.30. Way to go Brookland Middle School!
The top money raisers for each grade got to tar and feather Mrs. Fluker, Mr. Oxford, Mrs. Romines, and Mr. Rigney!
Hilarious!!! Look at these four. The students will not soon forget this! Thanks for being such great sports!
Prayer At The Pole
We Support Super Slade
Mrs. Reed's 5th Grade Advisory girls wanted to organize a Super Slade Day during homecoming. They were able to get all of 5th grade to participate in wearing SuperSlade shirts or orange in his support. "We are still thinking about you!"
Slade Smith is a 12 year old 7th grader who attends Brookland Jr. High. Unfortunately, he has recently been diagnosed with lukemia. Slade currently is receiving treatment at St. Judes in Memphis. The entire Brookland School District came out to support Slade on September 5th to pray together on his behalf. The picture below is of all the 6th grade class who showed up to show Slade they care. Way to be a Brookland Bearcat, and we look forward to having Slade back in our community and our school soon!
