One Book, One School - Clementine

Brookland Elementary is excited to announce our next One Book, One School is "Clementine." See an introductory video by clicking the book cover below.

In this first book of the series, Clementine tries to help out her friend Margaret, but ends up in a lot of trouble for it. Things get worse each day of the week, until finally she's worried that Margaret is right: Clementine's parents might consider her "the hard one" in the family. They're up to something mysterious...are they thinking they'd be better off if they only had her little vegetable-named brother..."the easy one"? (excerpt from http://sarapennypacker.com ) We will begin reading our book the last week in March and continue through April. Also, voice recordings of each chapter will be accessible on the BES website.  Our chapter schedule is as follows:

March 27 – Read Chapter 1 (Ms. Clark)
March 29  – Read Chapter 2 (Ms. Bell)
April 2 – Read Chapter 3 (Ms. Baker)
April 4  – Read Chapter 4 (Ms. Allen)
April 8 – Read Chapter 5 (Ms. Hughes)
April 10 – Read Chapter 6 (Ms. Haire)
April 12 – Read Chapter 7 (Ms. Lantz)
April 15 – Read Chapter 8 (Ms. Gilley)
April 17 – Read Chapter 9 (Ms. Gann)
April 19 – Read Chapter 10 (Ms. Tirado)

Trivia questions will be discussed during morning meeting after the assigned readings.

Important Alternative Method of Instruction (AMI) Information

The Arkansas Commissioner of Education has granted Brookland Public Schools approval to implement Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) days during the 2017-18 school year. The approval of our AMI plan provides our district the opporunity to engage all students in relevant learning experiences on days when conditions prevent the schools in our district from being in session due to inclement weather or emergency circumstances. Review the following letter for more information.
